Forklift Training Certification
For Class Dates Refer to Course Calendar or call 561-845-8233 to see when the next course is scheduled.
It is an OSHA requirement to train anyone who operates a powered industrial tuck. This requirement applies whether they operate the truck daily or once a year, regardless of the amount of their experience. All forklift operators must be evaluated for competency every three years. It is a violation of federal law for anyone to operate a forklift who is not properly trained and certified. Operator training is required if:
- Any type of accident or near-miss occurs
- When any new material handling equipment is introduced
- If any unsafe operating procedures have been observed
- Two or three years have passed in which there are no operational or equipment changes or near-misses.
- New rules require that traiing is specific to equipment you operate and specific to conditions under which the equipment is operated – site specific. This course meets 29CFR 1910.178 standards.
