Although the teen driver fatality rate dropped <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/road-safety\/teen-driving\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">46% from 2007 to 2016<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, car accidents are still the leading cause of death in the U.S. for teenagers. Luckily, motor vehicle crashes are preventable, and there are steps to be taken to help reduce the risk of an accident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. is proud to offer the \u201cBehind the Wheel Course for Students\u201d Learn To Drive course. This teen driving school teaches the essentials of defensive driving and decision making skills with hours of practice on highway and residential roads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your child will learn:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defensive driving<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Driving on the streets of your community<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traffic laws<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Critical decision making<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major risk factors and statistics associated with teen drivers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The statistics show a challenge for teen driving, as teenagers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/motorvehiclesafety\/teen_drivers\/teendrivers_factsheet.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are more likely<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to drive distracted, ride without seatbelts, or drive impaired.
