The OSHA Series are classes at the Safety Council of PBC, Inc. They are designed to bring your employees comprehensive training with a minimal time away from work. Each course includes continental breakfast and a hand out package. These courses are also available upon request -at your location or ours. You may combine any of these topics to create a longer educational session. Each topic typically runs two hours.
Exit Routes and Fire Plans – Obtain knowledge of the elements of an Emergency Action Plan , Understand the differences between exit access, exit and exit discharge. Learn the proper means to extinguish different types of fires, and gain familiarity with the different types of fire extinguishers.
Hand and Power Tools – Proper personal protective equipment and specific precautions for these tools will be the focus of this seminar.,
Ladder Safety – Explore the hazards associated with portable ladders, the different ladder ratings, and identify specific precautions that should be taken when using ladders. Members $35.00 / Non-Members $45.00
Lockout/Tagout – Ensure employees understand the purpose and function of an energy control program and that they have the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of energy controls. Members $35.00 / Non-Members $45.00
Safe Lifting – This course will teach you to identify hazards common to a warehouse operation, and will discuss safety considerations and techniques for stacking and storing materials. Members $35.00 / Non-Members $45.00
Machine Guarding – Understand the three basic motions of machinery and how this can affect the type of safety guards needed on a machine. Different types of machine guards and safety devices will be discussed.
Warehouse Material Handling – September 10th, 2014 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Learn how to identify hazards in a warehouse operation. Safety considerations for stacking and storing materials will be discussed. Precautions to avoid lifting injuries will be detailed. Housekeeping practices and their importance will also be explored. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – This program explains why PPE is necessary. You will learn types of PPE required for specific hazards , limitations and proper care. 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Members $35.00 / Non-Members $45.00
Electrical Hazards – Upon completion you will understand the types of injuries that can occur from contact with electricity and warning signs to prevent coming in contact with electricity. Ergonomics – The role of ergonomics is critical when the various sources of injury in the workplace are considered. This course covers the basic ergonomic principles and how to apply them in your work environment. 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Members $35.00 / Non-Members $40.00
Hazard Communications Right to Know – This program helps you understand the requirements for manufacturers, distributors and employers.
