CPR for Valentine’s Day

It’s almost Valentine’s Day so love is in the air and stores are decked with cartoon hearts to remind you to show the ones you love that you care. However, cartoon hearts aren’t the only ones you care about which is why CPR is so important for you and your loved ones to know. The Safety Council of Palm Beach County wants you to know that you have the power to save each of their lives in the event of an accident, and we can teach you how.

Our CPR and First Aid courses teach you basic, life saving techniques that give you peace of mind in the event of an emergency such as allergies, choking, and more. This course provides a curriculum that teaches you how to maintain a victim’s life until the paramedics arrive. Taking appropriate action in a timely matter can be the difference between life and death.

A large obstacle in cases of cardiac arrest is bystander reaction time. Every minute someone is in medical distress without assistance, they are at higher risk of long-term damage and possible death. By administering CPR, you increase the cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival by 45%, according to the American Heart Association.

Topics covered for First Aid include:

  • Bleeding Emergencies
  • Shock, Burns, Poisoning
  • Bites & Stings
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Musculoskeletal Injuries & Care
  • Heat Stress & Heat Stroke
  • Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Training

CPR Certification and First Aid Certification are both valid for two years.

Learn how you can keep hearts beating until emergency medical personnel arrive. Register for our next First Aid/CPR/AED Training, March 19, 2019.
